Properties

• OSi HIOSil 1074 can react with protic substances such as alcohols, phenols, carboxylic acids, amino acids, carbohydrates, thiols and amines under the formation of the silylated derivatives and ammonia release.

• Silylations with OSi HIOSil 1074 are usually conducted without solvent. The silylation reaction generally results in very high, often quantitative yields. OSi HIOSil 1074 decomposes in the presence of water or acids. Strong oxidation agents cause oxidation.

• OSi HIOSil 1074 can be hydrolyzed in acid or alkaline aqueous. The Si-O-Si bond was broken with silanol created. The silanol usually will be used to modify the polymer.

Applications

• Deodorants

To be used as a volatile carrier in the production of deodorants. It will help to uniformly spread actives and pigments over the surface of hair or skin leaving no oily residue or build-up an excellent non-greasy feel.

• Filler treatment

It can be used as filler or pigment treatment to improve rub-in properties, reduce stickiness, and impart lubricity and a smooth skin feel.
