Properties

Silane OSi HIOSil SL25 is a new type of bifunctional agent with an isocyanate group and triethoxysilyl group, which can be easily hydrolyzed and crosslinked. The dual nature allows it to bind chemically both inorganic materials (glass, sand, and fillers) and organic polymers (thermo-sets, thermo-plastics).

By adding Silane OSi HIOSil SL25 into rubber, the mechanical properties of the vulcanized, in particular, the elongation properties and the abrasion resistance are improved without the difference in rebound resilience. Also, it can be used in adhesives, polyurethane sealants, and coating applications to improve self-crosslinking, moisture curation,  and excellent adhesion to inorganic materials.

Applications

Silane OSi HIOSil SL25 is used as an additive in applications as follows:

■ As a modifier: to alkoxysilyl crosslinked fluororesin fluid

■ To promote adhesion to silicone rubber.

■ As an additive: to Urethane Paints, adhesives, sealing materials

■ As a modifier to hydroxyl resins: acrylic resin, PVA
